Procrastination…and showing up…

Standard

This has been a big piece of resistance in my life as well…

Fed by the doubts and the long term conditioning that has been going on in my life.

Getting the energy to get going on something requires effort…and ambition. I know there is some negative connotations to ambition; usually due to experiences that have happened in the past where people have used their ambition in a less than stellar way. Where one person’s ambition resulted in someone else’s undoing.

Yet ambition can also be a good thing…even a great thing. Ambition is what gets all those half done projects done around the house…

It is also what is required to get your business going…

Your business won’t happen over night…and it won’t happen without you getting things done in regards to your business. Even if it’s just networking, what you put into your business is what you get out of it.

I know it’s hard…I struggle some days to get going and to get done what needs to be done, especially on crap days where all I really want to do is curl up with a cuppa and a good book.

It comes down to showing up…

Showing up can mean many things to many people…

Showing up for me means showing up for my life…my personal as well as professional…

Showing up isn’t as complicated as it sounds but the reward can be pretty gratifying.

It can mean…instead of staying in your pj’s all day…it’s pulling on a pair of sweatpants…or instead of the sweats…it’s jeans…and so forth…you get the idea.

This statement doesn’t include those battling mental health issues; your struggle is much more epic in scope. I know that sometimes just getting out of bed takes all your spoons. My hope is that as days pass…it takes less spoons to get out of bed. If you need help…please do call someone…anyone…because people are listening.

Showing up means being present in the moment even as you visualize the future. It means embracing your current situation even as you strive to change it. Even if the situation isn’t idea…you’re there because you are meant to learn from it, for every experience both good and bad are tools to help you become who you are meant to be.

It’s time to start showing up…
